Small Libraries Build Community
Attention Roslindale Business Owners: Would you like to create a communal environment for your customers? Why not install a small library in your business! This is a great way to promote literacy and a love of reading by way of creating a free book exchange and a sense of community. The Friends of the Roslindale Branch Library would be willing to work with businesses and organizations in Roslindale interested in installing a bookcase, no matter how big or small, and who are dedicated to managing the flow of books. We supported the installation of libraries at the Flaherty pool, Green T Coffee House and the Roslindale Community Center. Check out this article about how the bookcase has worked out for the Flaherty Pool. Corrine Keane, building manager of the BCYF Flaherty Pool, is pictured above standing in front of the community bookcase. For more information about bookcase installation, contact Laura Gang at [email protected].
