Roslindale Community Library Project

Roslindale Community Libraries Project

Thanks to the efforts of carpentry instructor Stan Phillips, local architects Tim Smith and Hank Keating, students and staff at the Boston Architectural College, and the participants in the Building Pathways pre-apprentice program (pictured above), we now have 15 little libraries of varying designs to give away.  Thanks also for the $1,000 grant from Love Your Block from the City of Boston to help defray our costs.

Decisions about where the libraries will go will be made in May based on their geographic spread and foot traffic. The Boy Scouts in Local Troop One will help with installing the libraries in the next few months.  We hope to hold a workshop in building little libraries sometime in the future for those who applied and did not get one as part of this initiative.

NEEDED: We have ten businesses who have also agreed to host bookshelves of used books for circulation in the community and could use small bookshelves and bookcases.  Please email info@friendsofroslindalelibrary.org if you have one to donate.
