Little Libraries Are a Great Success – Help us expand the program!
Help the Friends expand this program beyond Roslindale Square by suggesting other Roslindale locations for additional library shelves. These can be in offices, businesses, gyms, or other spaces where the public comes through. We currently have lending libraries located at Green T Coffee Shop, Fornax Bread, Akasha Studio, ABCD/Head Start and the Flaherty Pool. Also, if you would like to help with this program (setting up and stewarding bookshelves by delivering additional books as needed) let us know. Send your location ideas and/or volunteer requests at [email protected].
I can see clearly now…
If you have been by the library in the last two weeks, you may have noticed that the front windows look sparkling clean! Thanks to P. Clancy & Sons for giving the windows a much-needed cleaning. The Friends paid for the cleaning with contributions from the community. You can support future building improvements with donations, Friends memberships, and shopping on Amazon.
Holiday Shopping with the Friends!
Speaking of Amazon if you do any holiday shopping there, please consider registering with the Friends’ AmazonSmile account. For eligible purchases at AmazonSmile, the Friends will receive five percent of the purchase price. There is no additional cost to the Friends or to AmazonSmile customers. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for donation” on their product detail pages. The shopping experience is identical to Amazon.com with the added benefit that the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate that percentage to the Friends! Five percent might seem minuscule, but this adds up if you are a regular Amazon customer who makes purchases several times a week or month, especially during the holidays.
Support the Roslindale Library Renovation Project!
We are running a letter writing campaign to make sure our elected officials keep the Roslindale Library renovation project on target by writing emails to them. We have already written the letter for you. All you have to do is fill in your contact information and click to send, or edit the letter to send a more personalized message.
To sign the letter or for more information about the project and how you can get involved, go to friendsofroslindalelibrary.org/renovation.
Books of the Month
Each month we feature themed book lists grouped for adults, teenagers/young adults, and children, and can be borrowed from the Roslindale Library!
Books about Thanksgiving
It’s that time of the year again to gather with your loved ones for the American tradition of Thanksgiving. This is a list of books about the history behind the holiday or fictional works with a Thanksgiving theme.
Books about Holiday Cooking
If you are making a meal this holiday season, the Roslindale branch library has a large selection of cookbooks to help you out. Here is a list of books for creating your best holiday meal.

Support the Friends
All the work we do for library programming, publicity and building improvements is done with support from the community. There are many ways to support the Friends, like making a donation, becoming a Friends member and even shopping on Amazon!
