DuBois Collection Display & Discussion
The Roslindale Library will have a special display during the month of May, as well as a special talk on the wonderful arts, sculptures, and dolls collected by Dr. Barbara DuBois, an anthropologist and former professor at San Diego State University in California. They include hand made Hopi Kachina dolls and Lakota Sioux dolls; a carved stone elephant and a mother figure from Kenya, and wonderful giraffe and antelope families from South Africa. There are also a hand painted wall cloth of various birds and a Taro Cloth and other treasures.
Jeanne DuBois will be giving a talk and show collection items on Saturday, May 21 at 10AM in the Roslindale Library. We encourage parents and children to come and get some hands-on contact and hear stories about these wonderful people’s crafts from around the world.
