Rahsaan Roland Kirk was an jazz multi-instrumentalist who played tenor saxophone, flute and many other instruments. He was renowned for his onstage vitality, during which virtuoso improvisation was accompanied by comic banter, political ranting, and the ability to play several instruments simultaneously.

Bright Moments was formed to honor the memory of dear friend David Sawin, an inspired and talented musician from Allston, MA who lived and loved Jazz. Bright Moments is a sextet playing the music of Charles Mingus and Rahsaan Roland Kirk.
