Thursday Crafternoons

Ages 6-12 - Join Miss Celeste and Miss Mary for arts and crafts projects. Children 6-8 must be accompanied by an adult who is able to help their child with projects as needed.

Book Ambassador: Kate Fussner

Kate Fussner will sign copies of her new middle-grade book, The Song of Us. A queer in-verse retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice, Fussner’s debut follows the story of two middle school girls learning to love each other and themselves as they fight not to lose one another. Fussner holds her B.A. from Vassar College, her M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and her M.F.A. in Creative Writing for Young People from Lesley University. She is the recipient of the W.K. Rose Fellowship from Vassar College (2022). After over a decade of teaching English for the Boston Public Schools, Kate now writes books, delights her wonderful wife with homemade baked goods, and walks her dramatic dog, Weasley. The Roslindale Book Ambassador Program is co-sponsored by Rozzie Bound.

Meet Your Neighborhood Age Strong Advocate
Tuesday, June 13, 2 – 4 PM
Age Strong's Mary Sullivan will assist older adults with applying for city services and government benefits and connect them to programs and resources. Mary will return monthly on the second Tuesday of each month from 2:00–4:00 PM. This is a drop-in program; no registration is required.

Banned Book Club: Gender Queer

The Roslindale Historical Society will facilitate oral history discussions on local history at the renovated Roslindale Community Center. Participants are encouraged to bring stories and photos about Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, and Campfire programs that served Roslindale youth.
